MEDIAINVESTIGASIMABES.CO.ID | Aifat Timur Maybrat, MediaHabema – The Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Para Raider 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, part of the HABEMA Operational Command in Papua, carried out a Border Security Operation in the RI-PNG mobile border area, specifically in Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua Province. On Sunday, December 15, 2024, soldiers of Satgas Yonif 501 Kostrad installed a water tower in Aisa Village to meet the local community’s need for clean water.
The Commander of Satgas Yonif 501 Kostrad, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, stated that the construction of the water tower was part of the TNI’s commitment to improving the quality of life for residents in border areas. He added, “This water tower is expected to provide direct benefits to the residents of Aisa Village. With easier and more reliable access to water, we hope the quality of life for the community will improve, especially in terms of health and sanitation.”
The residents of Aisa Village welcomed the water tower installation with great enthusiasm. The initiative was seen as a significant step toward addressing the urgent need for clean water in the village. Mama Afrida, one of the residents, expressed her gratitude, saying, “We are so grateful because now we have better access to water. In the past, we had to walk long distances to fetch water, but now everything is much easier.”
“The initiative by Satgas Yonif 501 Kostrad to install a water tower in Aisa Village reflects the TNI’s inclusive social communication with the people of Papua, aimed at supporting the acceleration of development in the region,” said Brigadier General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA, after receiving a report on the activity.
