MEDIAINVESTIGASIMABES.CO.ID | Mageabume Puncak, MediaHabema – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Wednesday, 4 December 2024, the 323 Task Forces, especially the Pintu Jawa Post led by First Lieutenant Caroko, visited and greeted residents in the Nigilome Village, Mageabume District, while conducting area security patrol.
Commander of the 323 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, left a message to the Soldiers who would conduct the patrol on Wednesday. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative and creativity of the Soldiers in conducting the patrol by performing Social Communication and distributing free food packages to the residents they met along the patrol route. This Social Communication aims to foster trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community to support the Indonesian Government’s program of accelerating the development of the Papua region.
While maintaining the security aspect of the Patrol, the Soldiers extended a warm invitation to the residents they met, fostering a sense of community. The Nigilome residents were overjoyed at the distribution of free clothes. Feeling like they were being treated as close relatives, a Papuan mother, Mita Otimuka, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for the free food packages for us, Commander 323. God bless”.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 323 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct social communication with residents of the Nigilome Village. His words: ‘The 323 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.’ This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development, instilling a sense of progress and hope about their potential to shape the region’s future positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized and appreciated for their efforts.
